There has to be balance. Isn’t that the way life works? There are ebbs and flows. There are times when motivation is high and times when it’s low. Feeling guilty isn’t good for anyone. And really, the floor is going to get swept at some point.

Martha and I aren’t exactly kindred spirits. Not for lack of trying on my part, I feel like I gave it a solid 80% at one point in my life. Which is the first indication of my impending failure. Martha doesn’t do 80%.

I’ve come to the conclusion that I’m a giant chicken. Most of the time anyway. Until courage shows up and puts me outside my comfort zone.

I just finished reading Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert. If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend it…I couldn’t put it down and subsequently neglected all household and motherly duties. Good news…the kids managed and the house is still standing so that’s all really great. And to be honest, it’s not the first time my family has seen me get lost in a book and it definitely won’t be the last. This is something I am perfectly okay with.
